In 1944, Yugoslav (Serbian) partisans captured an entire trainload of Mauser Karabiner 98k rifles, originally intended for the German Wehrmacht and its allies. These rifles were refurbished by Zastava after the end of World War II and marked "Preduzece 44." Consequently, several parts still bear the official weapons office (WaA) acceptance stamps. The rifle is in good, arsenal-maintained condition. The barrel is slightly rough. However, the rifle shoots relatively well, as the test target demonstrates.
