Firearms competency
According to §7 of the Weapons Act.
In order to apply for a firearms possession licence (Waffenbesitzkarte, WBK), the following requirements must be met:
Need: At least one year of membership in a recognized shooting sports association.
Proof of shooting activity: Documentation of shooting practice carried out either regularly 12 times or irregularly 18 times within a period of one year.
Legal age: At least 18 years of age.
Personal suitability: Mental and physical suitability.
Reliability: No relevant criminal convictions and no concerns under constitutional law.
Competence: Proof of firearms proficiency in accordance with § 3 (3), (4), (5) AWaffV and § 7 WaffG.
Through regular training courses in various federal states, we provide an essential foundation for the legal possession of firearms. The minimum age for participating in a firearms proficiency course is 14.

Procedure
After registration, each participant will receive all relevant documents relating to the firearms proficiency course 14 days before the start of the course.
The course takes place over two consecutive days and provides comprehensive, practice-oriented instruction covering the following topics:
Legal principles
Firearms knowledge
Ammunition knowledge
Handling of firearms and ammunition
Shooting
Safety regulations
The firearms proficiency examination takes place immediately after the course, on the third day. As a rule, a representative of the competent authority attends the examination. Attendance by an authority representative is legally permitted but not mandatory.
The examination consists of a written and a practical part. Upon successful completion, the examination concludes with the issuance of a certificate confirming the participant’s completion of the course and demonstration of the knowledge covered.
